It speaks with its back. Cool, understated. Saying little, yet showing everything through attitude. But since this is a place for words, I’ll try to put some into it.

When designing a sofa, I often imagined only the front and side views. The back was usually left to chance, something not worth much thought. But in a room, a sofa isn’t always set against a wall—it can stand freely, dividing the space. This one has wooden back and side panels, quietly standing on their own.

When you first enter the room, you see its back. You walk past, move to the front, sit down without looking back, and let your body sink in. At that moment, you might be surprised. For all its clean, slender presence, you realize it has such a generous embrace. You stand again, take a closer look, and notice it isn’t simply “straightforward

The outer lines are shaped with gentle curves; touch them and you feel their softness. From the inner arcs, a calmness seeps through. You smile to yourself, return to the front, sit again with awareness, and feel a quiet joy. You tap the armrest, stroke it, and as your hand closes lightly around it, your fingers trace the curve. Resting your head on the cushion, you breathe deeply, surrounded by feathers.

For the S.T,N.E. version, I chose Nara by Kvadrat, the Danish textile company renowned worldwide for its quality. Woven from viscose and linen chenille, it carries a subtle twist and a distinctive texture. The long, fine fibers give it a smooth yet semi-dry touch—light, comfortable, and softly fitting to the body.

Though plain at first glance, it holds a quiet depth, speaking without words.
