Place Table
Right now, I have this table placed by the window as a desk, and I’m writing these words on it.
Using the 2000 × 850 size as a desk isn’t a bad idea at all. When I spread things out, I appreciate the generous sense of space. And when I leave only my MacBook on it, clearing everything else away, that simplicity feels just as satisfying.
The table itself has no obvious, self-conscious “design.”
And somehow, that restraint seems to clear my mind as well.
It makes me feel capable — as though I’ve become someone who gets things done,
someone who could even sit down and write a novel.
When used as a dining table, pairing it with a bench or stools further enhances its clean, effortless comfort.
It wouldn’t feel out of place in a corner of a museum. I can also imagine this set quietly lined up in a café or restaurant stripped down to its very essence. In such a space, it would be the people — the coffee, the wine, the food — that take center stage.
And there was one thing I realized as soon as I finished making it — something I had to laugh at myself about.
You can’t sit at the head of the table.
I thought I should mention that upfront.
