That quiet kind of elegance is what I’ve come to appreciate.

In creating S.T,N.E., I tried to avoid any sense of over-designed effort or loud statements. In the early stages, I sometimes worried that, in terms of appearance alone, it might look like something ordinary, the kind of sofa you might find anywhere. But as I kept building prototypes, the substance inside began to reveal itself, and gradually it came to feel like a clarity, a confident simplicity.

When you sit down, you’re welcomed by a gentle softness on the surface. Beneath that, a well-coordinated team of supportive layers responds—tender yet firm, holding you without ever letting you feel the bottom. Resting your hand on the seat, you feel that same soft comfort.

The seat is set low, with a generous depth. Slide forward a little and you can rest your head on the back. Sit upright and your back reaches it naturally. The depth isn’t so much that you need a cushion to bridge the distance, yet it’s ample enough to sit cross-legged with ease.

The combination of this seat height, the wide surface, the low back, the gentle softness above, and the quality of support beneath gives you real freedom in how you spend time on it. You can even lie back and casually throw one leg over the backrest. And because of its overall low height, the sofa never overwhelms a room—it keeps the space open and expansive.

One of the fabrics chosen for MORGAN SOFA is Nara by Kvadrat, Denmark’s leading textile company, renowned worldwide for its quality. Woven from viscose and linen chenille, it has a unique texture with a subtle twist. The long, fine fibers give it a smooth yet semi-dry hand—pleasant to the touch, soft, and body-fitting. It feels as if it was made for this sofa, and simply touching it brings a sense of richness.

The L-14 leather was developed specifically for MORGAN SOFA. It has a moist, supple feel, offering just the right grip when you sit. Tanned with both vegetable tannins and chrome, it is soft and flexible, and with use, its character deepens beautifully over time.

Built from an oak base frame, a beech inner frame, a steel frame, and multiple layers of high-density urethane foam, MORGAN is far heavier than it looks. Even if you sit on the floor and lean against it, it holds steady, solid and unshakable.
