Over more than twenty years, it has come to be widely recognized as “FK means corduroy, and corduroy means FK.”
There was never another fabric option—corduroy was FK, and FK was corduroy.

There are reasons for that: the softness, the way it ages like vintage clothing, and the unique, slightly rugged charm it gives off.

I get it—I still love that about it.
But as the years have passed, time has moved on from when I lived only in denim twenty years ago.
I’ve seen and experienced many materials since then.
And just as I sometimes feel like wearing a linen shirt or jacket instead of a coverall, I’ve come to feel that furniture can reflect that same kind of mood.

One day I came across a fabric by Kvadrat, and I was immediately struck by its quality.
I began to imagine: what if FK were upholstered in a fabric like this?
If I were going to do that, I wanted FK itself to rise to a higher level.
So I carefully reviewed the unseen details, refined the materials, and built prototypes again and again—making upgrades in many hidden places.
Of course, the same improvements were applied to the corduroy FK as well.

The fabric I chose is Moss.
Made from cotton, viscose, linen, and more, it blends twisted yarns with chenille to create a textured surface that seems to move.
At first glance it looks plain, but it’s actually woven from multiple colors, giving it depth and richness.
Its solid weight brings a sense of reassurance, while the texture offers a crisp and pleasant touch.

Unlike the bold presence of corduroy, this version is more neutral and understated within a room.
But that subtlety highlights a quiet sophistication.

Now that I’m older, I find myself drawn to people and things that seem effortless, yet hold depth within.
