Havana Table
At a certain coffee shop, I picked up a magazine called “DRIFT,” which is themed around coffee.
As I was flipping through Volume 3: Havana, a photograph suddenly caught my eye.
At a bar counter in Havana, a rugged bartender and an equally weathered patron were captured in the frame.
In the corner of the photograph, I noticed a detail of the counter itself. It wasn’t anything special — just an ordinary, familiar type. And yet, for some reason, it stayed with me.
From that lingering image, the Havana Table was born.
When you’re alone, reading a book with a cup of coffee.
When friends come over and gather around it with wine or whisky.
On a clear, beautiful day, carrying it out to the balcony. Its compact size is precisely what makes it so versatile —a piece that invites many different ways of living with it.
I believe that the moments created around a table can become something just a little more special.
At that bar in Havana, perhaps no one pays attention to the detail of the counter.
And yet, the conversations exchanged there and the time spent together are what truly become irreplaceable in our daily lives.
If the Havana Table could become that kind of presence, I would be truly happy.
The linoleum used for the tabletop is made from natural materials, primarily linseed oil, and was invented in Europe more than 160 years ago.
Known as a material that is gentle on both people and the environment, linoleum naturally exhibits antibacterial and antiviral properties thanks to the inherent qualities of its plant-based ingredients. For this reason, it is widely used in medical and educational facilities around the world.
It is also easy to maintain — for everyday care, simply wipe it with a well-wrung damp cloth. In most cases, that is enough to remove any dirt or stains.
