When creating something new, sometimes an idea lingers in my head, taking shape only after months or even years of sketches. Other times, the process from inspiration to prototype to completion happens with surprising speed.

This lamp was the latter—“it would be nice if this existed” quickly became real, needing only a few adjustments before it felt complete.

Its form is utterly simple, yet the presence of white oak is strong and substantial, carrying both weight and a sense of lightness.

I admire such a presence. I want to be that way myself.

A dimmable lamp is truly convenient.

In the same place, there are times you want bright light, times you want a soft, gentle glow, and times you want to lower the light deeply.

This lamp has a dimmer switch at hand, allowing you to adjust the light as you feel. I also love the click it makes when turning on and off—it’s satisfying enough that I find myself turning it just for that sound.

Depending on the scene, it can be placed directly on the floor. It would sit well on tatami, or even by the pillow in a ryokan.

There are still hotels and inns where the room lighting is either glaringly bright or pitch dark once it’s off, but with this lamp, the comfort changes completely.
