Place Lowboard

The PLACE series was, for me, a kind of challenge.
I wanted nothing more than to quietly join boards of equal thickness—to let the form be only that.

The first piece was a shelf.
When I placed it in the shop space, I felt a weight lift from my chest.
It looked beautiful even when empty,
and when I set just one or two things upon it,
it revealed another expression altogether.
That clarity, that restraint, made me deeply happy.

From there came the SIDEBOARD, the LOWBOARD, and the SIDESHELF.

Its presence is almost zero, and yet it quietly emanates something undeniable. It does not insist, it simply receives.

When a form is this plain, the act of choosing what to place—
and how to place it—becomes a kind of freedom.

The word place carries many meanings: a location, a situation,
and the simple act of putting something down.
What you choose to place, and with what feeling—
I hope these shelves let you enjoy that, and create your own space you love.
